Re: May Marie from Dream Shiops
Hello Peter. Indeed your vessel is featured on page 41 of Dreamships, in a section describing seaworthy working vessels and their heritage. MG refers to the number converted to homely cruising boats. However there are no line drawings in the book. I would have thought a place to search may be the ma...

Re: Keel Bolt replacement
Hello Lynn, the answer was actually in the preceeding message. Eventides have a cast iron keel, as do most of our boats and should have mild steel galvanised bolts. these should be checked periodically. I draw one bolt, a different one, every 5 years, just to check. did one this time last year, stil...

Re: Eventide 24 Build Questions
Hello Gary most who opt for the cutter rig with a 3 ft or so bowsprit, opt for roller reefing and fit a genoa just slightly larger than the 166 square ft on the drawings. I had a 200 square foot genoa on my Eventide 24 and whith the deeper keel and extra ballast I fitted, (It had been the silly firs...

Re: Eventide 24 Build Questions
Great to see a constructive, in all senses of the word!, reply! We want to see more of your Eventide Nigel! What about an article to add to the Builders and restorers pages! Your build will be a bit of both, as you are recycling the rig and gear from the early Eventide! not sure about putting your f...

Great to see the forum being used this way!
Shows how many enthusiasts there are out there who look in at the Eventiders site!
Now we have to find that Opera singer and get him or her on here!

Hello Martin, sorry you have not had a response here, but a mail to the Eventiders could have got you an instant reply, well it would have done after I returned mid July! Re: Sailing characteristics Golden Hind
The same goes for the Eventide, if conditions are really choppy, backing the head sail or in real extremis, putting the motor on, but that I have only done once or twice because I was close to a sand bank and dare not bear away! Agree with the 15 degrees of heel too, MG told me the Eventide should n...
