Re: Spreaders....

Hi JFJ I did think someone might have come to your rescue earlier on this one, but siffice to say you are quite safe to shorten those spreaders a few inches. On my Eventide (Stretched to 27' 3" in the building), the spreaders are a couple of inches in from the overall beam. OK you still have to be a...

Re: New owner of YM senior boat in need of help!

Glad to hear you are getting there Joao. On the Medway you may need a Medway ports Authority licence, You should ask at the club. No other licence should be needed, unless you fit a VHF radio and that one is free, but you will need an opperators ticket, so have to go on a course for that. Again the ...

Re: Help - water leak in YM senior

Hello there Joao. I have managed to download all those photos and had a good look. Seems that there are many places the water my have got in? Is the leak right alongside the main keelson in the middle of the boat? Or on top of a bilge keel? I would look outside the boat to see if there any obvious c...

Re: Rust streak

Sadly a rust streak always means there is a bolt somewhere inside that has rusted! The only way to properly sort it is to start digging! Often bolts were itted with the heads inside and the nut below, if you dig out around the spot the rust starts hopefully you may find the bolt that is rusting. Yea...

Re: loss of our Webmaster

I have had a message from Peter's wife Kirstie.. Hi I couldn’t find where to post this on the website but, I wanted to thank everyone for their generosity and let them know just how much it’s helping. The total so far £345. loss of our Webmaster

We are very sad to announce the sudden death, at the age of just 46, of our Webmaster Peter. In an effort to support his wife Kirsty, I have arranged with her that we can make donations to his old PayPal address, she can collect it from there. Anyone with a PayPal account can simply open their acco...

Well Found James! I suspect you may also have gas aboard, so can I suggest a simple gas detector fitted that will protect you if there are any fuel or gas leaks! I have a diesel motor but use gas and have a gas detector... better safe than.... Send more pics in or your Restorers page when you do mor...

Hello James

See you are determined to go Stuart Turner! Hope it runs sweetly! Check there is no play in the flywheel end of the crankshaft to indicate worn bearing and thus duff crank case seal!

Good luck fitting it and making it safe!

John

Re: Scoter wild duck 19

Hello James, sorry no one has responded, but to be honest we had never heard of one ever being made in GRP so it was a very long shot finding anyone on here. I can only surmise she was made as a one off, either by someone in the GRP moulding business for their own use or by an enthuiastic amatuer. H...
