Eventide 24 - Tamarisk *URGENT*

Post by vanoord »

The Eventide website contains the information that the Eventide 24, 'Tamarisk' was sold to someone called 'Hal' in West Yorkshire, reported in your news article dated 16th November 2010.

The boat is lying in our North Yard at Gallows Point, Beaumaris and we believe it to be the property of a Mr.J.S.Bailey. We have not been informed of any change of ownership.

Storage fees are outstanding on the vessel since 1st July 2010 and as such we have offered the vessel for sale in order to recover the debt.

A sealed bid auction has proved unsuccessful and as such we are about to offer the vessel for sale via an online auction: if this is also unsuccessful and the vessel not removed before the end of September, we intend to dismantle it in order to free up the space for winter storage.

As such, we would be grateful for any information about the purported owner, 'Hal in West Yorkshire', as a matter of urgency.

He would be required to provide proof of his title to the vessel and cover the outstanding storage fees in order to prevent the vessel being sold or dismantled.

Thus, if anyone has any details on the possible ownership of the vessel we would be grateful for these at the earliest opportunity.

We have tried to mail you, so far without response.

If you are reading this, please mail us and we will do our best to assist and prevent the destruction of this boat. We have tried to contact the last known owner, Hal, but as yet have no reply.

Hoping to hear from you,

Well they never replied to us.... wonder why they mailed and posted if they do not respond?

Sadly Tamarisk looks like a wreck. Will take a good deal of effort and loads of pennies to restore her. Wish them well with the auction, maybe there is that person out there.

Sorry for the delay in replying, busy days.

As noted, we've put the boat up for sale on eBay with no reserve: we'd prefer to see her sold (even for a small amount) and gone rather than dismantle her.

If she does sell, we will load her onto road transport at no charge.

Unfortunately, there seems to be much less interest in buying boats like this compared to a couple of years ago, probably the result of the hard economic times.

Thanks for coming back, hope she sells, but looking at her it would have to be cheap and a real enthusiast to take her on...

Good luck,

Hi, my first post here so hello to erveryone.

This Eventide has been advertised again on ebay using the same photos as before:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-EVENT ... 3a6f4e9fc7

although the description doesn't mention the dilapidations and interior flooding that was mentioned previously. Does anyone know if work been done to her in the period between being bought for £205 in Sept and being offered for £1250 now? Perhaps she was bought in Sept by a member.

We have not heard anything positive here, maybe the original seller has some idea?

Not a clue what's happened, quite frankly.

As far as we're aware, nothing has been done to the boat over the winter and we're waiting to hear from the apparent new owner.

Nothing is ever easy...

The Buyer/New seller has an abysmal ebay feedback score as a seller with 8 negatives & 3 neutrals in the past 12 months, see link below

http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI ... gative_365

He also attempted to sell this a while back - click on classics in the first post.

http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270381

he seems to be located in somewhere ironbridge

his mobile phone number 07581 105300 - ask for STU or TOM depending what is being sold :?:
