YMS Standing Rigging

Hi there can any one tell me how to tension the standing rigging without a tension guide as i dont have one if not what is the tension using a tension rig Tony

I usually tighten my side stays up until I cant deflect them by pushing with my thumb, then I put a couple of extra turns on the forestay, trimming as necessary after a sailing tryout.

You will soon notice if the forestay or mast are deflecting when under load from the sails,
as a check while under sail you can lie on your back & sight up the mast/forestay.
