Re: Can anyone help find an Eventide ?

Hi there Dave, I wonder if you have a sail number? I was responsible for the sale of many sets of drawings years ago, and though the books were lost in the collapse of the old associaton, we do have extensive records and you fathers boat may have been recorded by sail number or even by former owners...

Re: Waterwitch

Hello Michael. I sailed my Eventide all the way to Cornwall in company with the WW 'Dougaljo' she is sloop rigged, we sailed together. There was little in it betwixt us as her waterline length is longer, but the Eventide slightly more slippery.... Difference was when it got lumpy, as it did, Dougalj...

Re: Waterwitch

Hello There, the displacement listed in our spec is the plan displacement all up with motor. However many turn out to be heavier! But 6 tons??? No suspect this may be Thames measurment, not displacement. 4 tonne to maybe 4.5 tonne for the heaviest built! The Steel WW should really be no heavier than...

Re: spacious accommodation

To answer the original question Steve, the Riptide is as near as damn it the same size as a GH 31 and has more accomodation than a WW. Also more head room than most WW's. The Riptides are a bit thin on the ground though as only about ten afloat. Whereas the GH's were built professionally for many ye...

Re: new member

The sail number we have on our records is 203 and was owned in 2005 by a Mr.Jory in Northamptonshire? suspect she may have changed hand since then.

Sorry for delays, Forum has been down.

Re: Converting E24 Mainsail to Slab Reefing

Ths is not hard to do if you think about it logically. You have to have a 8mm line running from the cockpit to the mast, up the mast to the boom/gooseneck end, then running up to a block on the luff reefing point, (use blocks otherwise friction will defeat you), back down to the gooseneck then aft t...

Re: Its Alive - The Forum is now available on this site

Hi Steve, Tim set this up in the first place, (2006), but retired from the post after a couple of years, he is Australian and went 'walkabout'! We struggled on for a bit on our own but were then assisted by Brendan for some years. Sadly brendan became ill and the Forum collapsed in his hands, he cou...

Re: Sailing characteristics Golden Hind

I wonder if you have a short bow sprit fitted? Our Eventide 26 stretched to 27'3 and has a 3'6" sprit. Very similar to the early GH 28'6" hull form as well.. It has been found that in normal sailing this assists as they perform far better with a large genoa and it helps to off set any weather helm. ...
