Hello there? What size Stuart do you have in it at the moment? I can imagine it could be either a 4 or an 8 (5 or 10)! The little single was only just man enough in a calm and I would have thought an 8 or 9 hp replacement would be the most suitable, depending on how much room you have without magor ...

The 1000th picture on the site!

After a week of waiting, and several false alarms as pics were sent in that we already had, Alan Lyttle has sent this photo of Borer Bee in! He believes she is somewhere on the upper Thames, but is not certain.. She is now in Northern Ireland undergoing a refit. How apt thet one of the most famous ...

Could not agree more Chris.

Soon we will be able to let restorers and owners see almost every one of our boats drawings! As it should be!

Hello Paul, never worked on a Senior that way, but I have added a skeg to a Lysander with good results, years ago. The boat tended to tilt back on it's keels if you put too much weight aft, so the owner asked me to help. We made up a galvanised Steel skeg, through bolted under the stern, just in fro...

Hello Ian, good to see you aboard! I do not know the designs you speak of, will have to look them up! Can you scan the pics and send them digitally? Love to add them to the site! Am waiting for a little warmth her before I start work on ours for the Fit Out. Not a lot to do again, but not the weathe...

Hi Michael. Do we know what the Antifouling is? You say it is good order, (on the phone), no cracks or flakes. If it is in good order, and a copper based paint, then a rub over with a rag with suitable thinners for it should enable a coat of similar paint over the top. Otherwise you might have to us...

Should I scrape off the antifouling?

Hi John, Got a question. The Lady Anne had new antifoul paint and the rest of the hull striipped down and repainted in about Nov 2004. She has not been back in the water since and the anti fouling seems to be in good order with no cracking or peeling. I am going to strip the rest of the hull to repa...

Hello Pete, Interesting query, have no clue! Is it as you say that the rigging has stretched, if so can you tighten it, or has a swage fitting slipped? I guess the only people who can really answer this are going to be Rotostay... My much cheaper Plastimo gear is very different. I will copy and past...

Rotostay reefing problem

Hello John, My 1965 Golden Hind 31, Sari-Rose is fitted with a rotostay E headsail furling system. The SS forestay inside the ali extrusion seems a bit stretched. i.e. the ss 'pin' at the top end is poking out a bit, almost exposing the ss rigging to the top edge. Has anyone got an exploded diagram ...
