Re: Height of Riptide
Hello Iain, Sorry to hear there is damage to her... any idea where on the bow and how it happened...? afloat or ashore? Cannot recall if Ramilles has a tabernackle or not, but suspect pulpit and guard rails will take her up over the 10 ft mark..... Did you get a CD from us already? I have not looked...

Re: MG Drawings
Hello Chris, no we do not have the Athaena 'per say', but MG was crafty, when someone asked for a set of drawings for the Athaena to be drawn up, like an Eventide but not an Eventide... he took the Eventide drawings and modified them! Just as was done for the GH 26! The cabin top was altered to matc...

Re: mainsheet handling
Hi Mike, you are quite right, I was thinking he had boththe two ends to cleat, but it does say, when I read it more carefully, the rope starts at the block on the boom.... He will not get as much purchase with that as when two doubles are used and the bitter end is secured on deck or to the becket o...

Good point Mike, Epoxy is OK on it's own as a glue but need filler stands of some sort in this sort of application.... Microfibres were sold to me for this and microsheres too, worked well.

Re: Almost all the YM designs
Well it is a while since the first entry... and in the meantime we have acquired every sheet of drawings from the YM designs, from the Junior up to the Riptide, and all the steel versions as well, (except the Wild Duck!). We have got hold of the Senior booklet that Martin Lewis wrote and a lot of th...

Re: Going to Windward
sorry not to have seen the post earlier, hope you are still out there, and not tacking off a lee shore! If perfomance is what you were after the fin keel wins every time. However most of us have these boats for other reasons, drying out in shallow places, creek crawling and trailing. However a moder...

Re: Mouette uncovered!
Hello Peter, we would love to see these pictures! Interesting to hear one was instantly modified! Is there any chance you have a copy of the book and can scan them as jpg files? If you can please send direct to enquiries@eventides.org.uk The design was sort of popular for a very brief period, with t...

Re: Waterwitch 'Sai-lon' Ex 'Lucky duck' leeds
Hi Chris, James. This is a Waterwitch and the chances of two being there are probably slim, so bet this is Lucky Duck! What a name! Not GRP but of course GRP sheathed, which was quite common. OK if done well, but GRP does not seem to stick as well as epoxy. Had to strip all the sheathing off my Even...

Re: small ships register a waste of money?
Hello Steve, Agree with Chris, the SSR is not for the publics benefit, but to prevent an owner wanting to go foreign having to have full Merchant Shipping Act Registration for their little boat. The certificate is all you need for the continent but is just a bit of paper and doen not even prove owne...

Re: What's the weight of a Cockler?
Hello Tim, Do I suspect from you comments that you had a set of drawings for the Cockler? If so we would love to lay our hand on then to scan them for others, as these drawings are getting scarse these days. One day no one will have any. Our policy is to pass all these drawings on to members at cost...
