There were a further 10 replies from members who had left the eoa but agreed with the proposal,  There were two who supported the idea, and would be proud to be ‘Associate members’, including Marie Perrin,  but wished to abstain.  There was one versed in such an odd way, I called it a negative response. There were many telephone responses too, not shown here, all positive.

These are the members, and a couple of ex members, whose views were to be considered unworthy of consideration and ignored by the president and committee.

There were 54 positive replies from members and 10 from ex members, that accounted for well over half the 120 letters I sent out, at my own expense, to UK members, not exhaustive but 90% of members listed on my, (purchased) members list, which showed 165 members in total worldwide.  If I missed you in my mail shot, I am sorry, but the list was out of date!

I did not include the committee, to save costs, as they already had a copy of the proposal, and anyway they had let it be known that they had closed ranks to protect the president and vice president etc, who had sold their boats!

This very positive response gave me the heart to take it forward on behalf of the members, and demonstrated to me that I had not been misleading the Committee with my assertions for the past 18 months, that the membership wanted a true ‘Owners Association’, and that did not include ‘non owners’ as prime officers.
