Tony has sent a CD
of pictures in to us, as he promised he would. It includes some real
classic black and white shots from the day of her launch.
Tony has e-mailed us with the captions to go with all the shots.
thanks Tony Tony is now resident in
France, like so many others he has moved himself and all over there, bold move,
but in today's climate I might be the only one left here soon, even we have
plans.....
So here they are, Tony
Dellaway's 'Magog'.
Launching
day 1969,
do
we recognise the street? Info in from Tony it was in Battersea, South London.
Where is this? Not Putney is
it? No Richmond!
Here she is on her mooring
in Portsmouth Harbour, off Hardway Sailing club.
Portsmouth on a fine
evening....
Ashore in Emsworth for a bit
of a refit by the looks of her.
Craning in! At Emsworth
Tony in a near gale off
Fecamp
Now I wonder where this
picture was taken?
On the canal in Burgandy.
Is that a trusty Seagull I
spy on the stern rail! Now here is a man with taste!
Negotiating the locks, a
little larger than the ones round our inland waterways! Canal de Bourgogne.
Alongside in Lyon.
26 metre rise!
River Rhone, Bolene eclusive.
'Magog'
Etang de Tau at
Meze.
After 28 years of ownership and with Tony
retired to France, Magog was sadly broken up there after he could not find
anyone to take her on, even trying to offer her for free. She had plenty
of adventures and made many happy memories.
September 2012.
